It’s back by popular demand – SuperBowl Grab and Go featuring J. Timothy’s wings!
We’re holding our next Grab and Go on Super Bowl Sunday and serving Connecticut’s best buffalo wings from J. Timothy’s!
You will get 6 “dirt” wings with buffalo sauce, blue cheese, celery, carrots and dessert. Each order is $14 and pickup is on Sunday February 13th from 8:00-12:00 at St. Bridget’s Parish Hall.
We are serving these fully cooked, but cold with reheating instructions so you can have them ready for kickoff. Because we have to order them far in advance, there is a limited supply. Order yours early!
As always you can pay at pickup (cash, check or charge) or pay in advance.
After a grueling session judging outstanding works of poster art, which had normally complacent Knights at each other’s throats, our 2021 Poster Contest winners have shone forth with their remarkable creations.
First Place in our ages 5 to 7 category goes to Nina Pepe:
First place in our ages 8 to 10 category goes to Genevieve Cooney:
and lastly, First Place in our ages 11 to 14 category goes to Meredith Berkun:
If you know these budding young artists or their families, please stop them after Mass in the coming weeks and congratulate them on their remarkable achievement. From here, the winning posters go to the K of C state competition and, if successful, onto the international judging. We will be sure to keep you informed of the outcome.
The Knights of Columbus will be sponsoring a free throw challenge for girls and boys ages 9-14 at St. Bridget School on Saturday January 8th from 10:00AM to noon. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org. Download your entry form here.
The Cheshire Knights of Columbus invite all children ages 5-14 (as of November 1st) to submit a poster centered around the theme “Keep Christ in Christmas”. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to be creative, to be involved in their faith, and to have fun while experiencing the true meaning of Christmas. Posters must 11×17. If pastels, chalk, or charcoal are used, the poster must be laminated or covered in clear plastic. Posters must be submitted to the parish office by December 19th. Prizes will be awarded for winning entries. Winning entries will also be advanced to the district and then to the state.
Because of the pandemic, the traditional Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled, but a motorcade honoring Veterans will be held in its place. Our council is proud to have two Veterans in the parade. Bruce Humiston and Vin Masotta will be in a light blue Mercedes convertible.
The route through town is listed below, but for our parish the best place to view the motorcade is in front of St. Thomas Becket Church on North Brooksvale Rd.
